We use this knowledge to guide bubs into the optimal position for birth, move internal pelvic obstacles out of the way, practise common labour and birth positions, practise contraction coping skills and breath work, learn how to tune into our intuition and build an amazing community of mamas.

NBC’s pregnancy specific pilates is midwifery-led.
We use this knowledge to strengthen specific muscles you need to endure birth, making you more resilient and less exhausted for your birth, create mobility in the pelvic joints, relieve pregnancy discomforts, decrease pelvic floor dysfunction, pelvic dysfunction and sever abdominal separation. All the while building an amazing community of mamas.

As a midwife, I teach you and your partner this vital knowledge for natural birth:
How the hormones work in labour, and how we can optimise the flow of your hormones to allow labour to flow naturally and efficiently
The birth partners ESSENTIAL role in labour
How to create space in the pelvis to allow baby to decend through the pelvis- Positions and movement (what we call our intentionally active labour)
How labour and birth actually work- progression of contractions, how baby descends etc.
How to effectively make evidence based decisions that align with you and your partner- feel confident and responsible into your decision making process (important for an emotionally satisfying birth experience)
How to cope with pain in labour- 7 techniques to build your resilience towards labour pains
Pain relief options (Both Pharmacological and non-Pharmacological)
If you do decide some sort of medical intervention is necessary (epidural, induction) how to keep it to the natural path as much as possible (NBC is a big believer that birth doesn’t have to be 100% medical or natural, balance is key, and safety is first priority)
If labour does stall (leading to a C-SECTION or INSTRUMENTAL BIRTH) how to recognise the stall, perform various midwifery movements and positions to move the obstacle from within the pelvis, allowing your labour to continue as nature intended
Your partner will receive a booklet that is his birth bible- explains each step how to support you and enhance your natural birth progression.
You will receive a 5 video series to practise regularly developing your skills on coping with pain in labour.
Regular check ins from our Midwife Amy to hold you accountable to your mock contraction prep, fine tune your birth preference checklist, help discuss decisions that may arise for you during the remainder of your pregnancy. You have access to Amy for all birthing questions have.
Any time after 28 weeks of pregnancy.

Through my professional experience as a midwife for the past 10 years, I recognised that the birth experience is extremely daunting! I established Natural Birth Co. to help women prepare for a calm, natural birth in a hospital setting. As a registered midwife and yoga instructor, I blend my technical skills and yogi knowledge to empower women to feel confident about giving birth the way nature intended!
